We’ve been told that you could once find Santa in the window of this historic Bay building. Toyland, on the 3rd floor, filled many a dream for local kids. Throughout the building you’ll find reminders of yesteryear. This season, The Hudson will once again light up the neighbourhood. We’re hearing from new residents in the building how much they love their new homes, and how much they love the downtown lifestyle. Here are a few of the downtown happenings to take in over the holidays:
Stop by Centennial Square to see the Square’s giant Sequoia Tree sparkle with more than 25,000 colourful LED lights.
The 19th Annual Festival of Tree’s runs until January 4th at the Fairmont Empress benefiting the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Gingerbread Houses on Display for Habitat, on until January 2 at the Inn at Laurel Point. These gingerbread creations are unique works of art by local chefs. Vote for your favourite and make a donation to Habitat for Humanity.
In the spirit of giving, help out Santa’s Anonymous, now celebrating 32 years of helping kids in Victoria. At selected shops on Government Street stop by and choose a paper bear from the Santa’s Anonymous Tree. Printed on the back of the bear is the child’s name and a requested gift. Register your bear, and later return with the purchased gift. Help to make Christmas brighter for a child this season.
Victoria is a very special place, and we’re proud to be a part of this community.
Happy holidays from the all of us at The Hudson and see you in 2011.
